The Curragh Thoroughbred Trail takes place before racing on Sunday morning. This unique event allows racing fans to go behind the scenes at many of the leading training yards, stud farms and world-class equine hospitals based on the famous Curragh plains. Registration opens at 8.30am at the racecourse where complimentary light refreshments will be served. All trials will depart from the racecourse at 9.30am sharp. We may have a few places left and you can book a trail with or without admission tickets included on arrival (subject to availability)
Family Fun Enclosure
Our Family Fun Enclosure is located in the In Field of the racecourse with fantastic views of all the racing action and is FREE to anyone with a race day admission ticket. The Enclosure will feature a great mix of family entertainment including Alice in Wonderland themed shows with special guests Alice, the Mad Hatter and the Cheshire Cat, Giant Games Zone, Horse Racing Zone with simulator, Reptile Zoo, face painting and lots more, together with a high quality food and beverage area.
Special Family tickets are just €50 which admit 2 adults and all accompanied children under 16 are available at our ticket sales desk on arrival, and all children’s entertainment is free once inside the racecourse.
Longines Prize for Elegance
Phase 2 of Longines Prize of Elegance carries over to the Curragh with amazing prizes on offer from Kildare Village and David Marshall Hair Salon for the most elegant lady and gent. The winners are announced at 3.50pm on the Garden Plaza stage
The Parade of Irish Champions
Takes place in the parade ring at 2.15pm. Come and meet some true Irish Equine Stars including Our Duke, Sizing John, Un De Sceaux, Hurricane Fly, Un Atout and Forpadydeplasterer
The Connor McKeon Band
Join us apres racing at 6pm for a musical treat, The Connor McKeon Band, direct from the Late Late Show are performing live on the Garden Plaza Stage
ALL SOLD OUT. Other food and beverage outlets are open from 11.30am and will serve a selection of Snacks, beverages, and more.
Public Viewing Stands
During the building of our new Grandstand a number of temporary facilities will be in place including a 1500 seater covered grandstand. There is no reserved seating and all seating is available on a first come first served basis. Disabled viewing is available from the platform along the rails.
The new Tote Hall will have several Tote positions and also a Paddy power Betting shop, along with bars and our sit'n'sip café open from 11.30am today.
Car Parking at the Curragh is Free. There are designated car parks available for Members, Owners and Trainers, Selected Hospitality Guests, Press and Jockeys, Coach and Public car parking. Please enter all car parks from the N7 Roundabout and follow the instructions of the car park staff.
